1989年日本平成时代伊始，村西（山田孝之饰）叱咤成人视频世界，推出了大量系列主题视频。但是，这些视频都无法与他和黑木香（森田望智饰）合作的传奇佳片《我爱 S&M》相媲美。黑木香欲与村西再度合作，但由于他们之间渐行渐远，这个愿望最终没能实现。在此期间，村西欲向卫星广播领域发展。为了实现“让色情作品如雨水般从天而降”的宏伟梦想，村西筹措了更多的资金。对此，川田研二（玉山铁二饰）非常质疑村西的决定。然而村西对亲密盟友的意见不置可否，并抛开对方成立了自己的新公司钻石映像。他开始在钻石映像推广新的女演员，其中包括乃木真梨子（恒松祐里饰）。与此同时，他的前搭档荒井敏（满岛真之介饰）已成为古谷（国村隼饰）手下的黑道成员，对村西有着复杂的感情。。Earl过去的生活中做了许多错误的事情，但是一件事情却使他的生活发生了不小的变化，让他有了重新开始的机会，Earl中了彩票。在知道这一切后，他做了一个重大决定，要用这笔财富来改变他的生活方式，尽力弥补他在过去所犯的错误，他希望这是他新生活的开始。可惜，在他实施这一措施以前，不幸就已经出现了。兑奖前几秒钟，他被汽车撞倒了，而且失去了记忆，彩票也被风吹走了。在医院里，Earl看了《Last Call with Carson Daly》的节目，Carson在采访时说，他之所以成功是好心有好报的结果，就在这时，Earl发现真的有因果报应这回事。他想要自己的生活变得美好，所以开始弥补自己以前的错误。最后，他选择了Kenny，一个小学里做滑稽表演的人。帮助Earl寻求改变命运，洗刷罪恶的是他的一群朋友们，尽管他们的头脑有些不灵光：总是比较倒霉的兄弟Randy、非...。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
