美好的周末假期，野原新之助和爸爸广志一起去看机器人的科幻电影，走出电影后的父子俩兴奋地大玩合体游戏，谁知广志却不慎扭伤了腰。忍受不了老婆的碎碎念，广志去医院看病，可是周末医院休诊，父子俩只得来到公园休息，结果还被妈妈团赶了出去。当父子俩走在回家路上的时候，色色的广志被一家按摩店的美女招待员所吸引，于是把小新打发回家，自己则跟着对方进入店里。从昏迷中醒来的广志以飞快的速度回家，结果吓到了全家人，原来他被美容院改装成机器人。最初的震惊恐惧之后，野原家渐渐习惯了这个家务全能的新爸爸。 然而随着城市中机器爸爸越来越多，潜在的危机则悄然浮出水面……。The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich| his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely.
